Getting started.

What is PlayPouch?

PlayPouch is a collection of eight small paper-style games for iPhone: Tic-Tac-Toe, Dots and Boxes, Hangman, Black Hole, Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, Order and Chaos, Bunch of Grapes, and Crossed.

Can I play without internet?

PlayPouch is designed for offline play. Game rules, word lists, artwork, fonts, and sounds are bundled with the app, and progress is stored on your device. Downloading or updating the app and sending a support email require an internet connection.

How do two-player games work?

Both players share one iPhone and take turns on the same board. These are local games; there is no online matchmaking or remote multiplayer.

Which games can I play on my own?

Tic-Tac-Toe has a solo mode against a simple AI opponent. Hangman has a solo mode using its bundled word bank. The other games are for two players sharing the device.

Do I need an account?

No. PlayPouch does not ask you to create an account or sign in to play.

Where can I download PlayPouch?

PlayPouch is preparing for its first iPhone release. An App Store link will be added to this website when it is available. If you've been invited to the beta, use the TestFlight invitation provided to you.

Keep your place.

Can I resume an unfinished game?

Yes. Unfinished rounds are saved locally. Look for Resume on Home or the game's mode-selection screen to continue a saved round.

What happens if I start a new round?

Starting a new round in the same game and mode can replace the saved round for that mode. Use Resume if you want to continue the existing game.

Are my games synced between devices?

PlayPouch does not provide its own cloud sync. Saved rounds, preferences, and statistics live on the device where you played. Your iPhone's backup settings may include app data, but PlayPouch does not manage that backup service.

How do I reset my statistics?

Open PlayPouch's Settings and choose Reset statistics. You'll be asked to confirm. This resets lifetime statistics; it keeps your paper style, sound and haptic preferences, and saved rounds.

Will deleting the app remove my progress?

Deleting the app can remove locally stored games, preferences, and statistics. PlayPouch cannot retrieve them from a gameplay server. If you are troubleshooting, contact support before deleting the app.

Make it your own.

How do I change the paper style?

Open Settings and choose Notebook, Crumple, or Pirate. All three styles are included in the app and change its appearance while keeping the same game rules.

Can I turn sound or haptics off?

Yes. Sound and Haptics have separate controls in Settings. Your choices are saved on your device.

Why are the game sounds quiet?

Check that Sound is enabled in PlayPouch's Settings, raise your iPhone's volume, and check Silent Mode. The app's game sounds respect Silent Mode. Sounds are designed to mix with music from other apps.

The rules, in a few lines.

Tic-Tac-Toe
  • X always goes first.
  • Place three matching marks in a row, column, or diagonal to win.
  • A full board without a winning line is a draw.
Dots and Boxes
  • Draw one horizontal or vertical line each turn.
  • Complete a box to score a point and play again.
  • The player with the most boxes when the board is full wins.
Hangman
  • Choose letters to uncover the hidden word.
  • Each miss removes a piece of the drawing.
  • Find the word before six misses. In two-player mode, one player chooses the secret word and the other guesses.
Black Hole
  • Choose a 15-hole or 21-hole triangular board.
  • Take turns placing your next number into any empty circle. Placed numbers cannot move.
  • The final empty circle becomes the Black Hole.
  • Add each player's numbers touching the hole. The lower total wins.
Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe
  • Player 1 is X and begins anywhere. Player 2 is O.
  • The cell you choose sends the other player to the matching small board.
  • If that board is already won or closed, they can choose any unfinished board.
  • Win small boards with three in a row, then claim three small boards in a row to win the match.
  • A full small board without a winner closes as a draw.
Order and Chaos
  • Order tries to create five or more matching symbols in a row. Chaos tries to prevent every possible line.
  • Both players can place either X or O; the symbols do not belong to a player.
  • Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
  • Chaos wins as soon as no five-in-a-row remains possible, even if cells are still empty.
Bunch of Grapes
  • Choose different starting grapes. Player 2 moves first.
  • Move to a connected empty grape.
  • Each grape you leave becomes filled and blocked.
  • You cannot move onto blocked grapes or the other player's current grape.
  • If you cannot move at the start of your turn, you lose.
Crossed
  • Connect two unused dots from different sides of the square.
  • Crossing an opponent's line scores 1 point. Crossing your own line scores 2 points.
  • Used dots cannot be used again.
  • When no legal move remains, the higher score wins.

Privacy & support.

Does PlayPouch track my gameplay?

The current app does not include an application analytics service or send your gameplay to a gameplay server. It saves rounds, preferences, and statistics locally. Support emails, website visits, and Apple's beta services are described separately in the privacy policy.

Are there ads?

The current version of PlayPouch does not display ads.

How do I report a bug or suggest a game?

Email . For bugs, include the game, steps to reproduce the problem, your iPhone model, iOS version, and app version if known. The support page has a short checklist.
